Italian art of living

The peninsula is renowned for its sense of style, reflected as much in the architecture of its hotels and trattorias as in the art of the table. Our neighbours share this particular attention to good food and drink. That’s certainly why we’re so comfortable on the other side of the Alps!
Yes, in Italy, hospitality is an art. The staff make it a point of honour to offer attentive, personalised service, creating a friendly, relaxed atmosphere. Everyone feels like a privileged guest.

Hotel de la Ville – Groupe Rocco Forte.

And as with all the travel projects that make up our daily missions, Charly didn’t do things by halves… We were welcomed into a haven of peace, ideally located in the heart of the Eternal City, at the top of the Place d’Espagne.

Like all the palaces of the eponymous group, the Forte family has skilfully modernised the spaces to make you feel pampered, cosy, trendy and elegant. Respect for tradition and craftsmanship is at the heart of the Rocco Forte experience.

The hotel in a few words,

it’s a harmonious blend of Italian tradition and modernity! This emblematic eighteenth-century palace, which has undergone a complete renovation, offers a cultural insight into the period of the Grand Tour of Europe, paying tribute to the travels of aristocrats across the continent.
Its 104 rooms and suites, among the most spacious in Rome, are arranged around a lively central outdoor courtyard that links the three buildings. Each room is decorated with antique and contemporary furniture, punctuated by black and gold accents. Together they form a cosy cocoon, with a refined décor that is not ostentatious, combining noble materials such as marble, wood and ceramics with fine lines.

On the gastronomy side,

the great classics can be enjoyed at the Mosaico restaurant, after a toast on the roof at Cielo Terrace. A must, nestled between the sixth and seventh floors, captivates diners, out of sight, with incomparable views over the capital. It’s a place to return to after the evening’s feasting, when a DJ gently sets the rhythm for the evening.

Since December 2024, Café Ginori, on the ground floor, has harmoniously combined the art of dining, hospitality and cuisine, offering a unique experience. Chef Fulvio Pierangelini, creative director of catering for Rocco Forte Hotels, welcomes guests to a dynamic and unexpected journey. The fabrics and furnishings of the Domus house create an elegant backdrop where the emblematic pottery motifs are subtly combined. The iconic ‘Oriente Italiano’ wallpaper and the embroidered fabrics on the seats are also featured.

The Irene Forte spa is one of the most advanced in Rome.

Covering an area of 550 m2, it offers an immersive, holistic experience, with Sicilian-inspired treatments and the scent of orange blossom from the Verdura Resort, integrating physical, mental, emotional and spiritual well-being. Designed in the style of the Roman baths around a thermal pool, sauna, ice fountain and hammam, the premises sublimate health and well-being, which are essential aspects reflected in the 12 European Rocco Forte hotels.
